Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez affirmed that his country will not allow the United States to destabilize it, stressing that the new sanctions imposed by Washington on Cuban officials will not make Havana abandon the protection of its sovereignty.
In a tweet to him on Twitter, Rodriguez said: "The United States still wrongly believes that our government will allow it to spread social instability in Cuba," adding, "It is our right and duty to protect our privileges and sovereignty and reject external interference."
Rodriguez indicated that the hostile measures announced by the United States "will not change the decisive policy taken by the Cuban authorities in protecting the country and preserving its sovereignty and independence."
Yesterday, the US State Department announced the imposition of travel restrictions on 9 Cuban officials, including officials in the Ministries of Interior and Defense, under the pretext of their involvement in the suppression of peaceful demonstrators in Cuba.
