It would be a bad mark just received at the base of the gesture of a 14-year-old from the province of Bari who died this morning throwing himself from the first floor of the school, a scientific high school in Ruvo di Puglia. (HANDLE)

It would be a bad mark just received at the base of the gesture of a 14-year-old from the province of Bari who died this morning throwing himself from the first floor of the school, a scientific high school in Ruvo di Puglia. This is what the classmates reported to the carabinieri, coordinated by the Prosecutor of Trani, who carried out surveys and listened to numerous witnesses, teachers and students. The fact would have happened during the change of lessons, while there were no professors in the classroom. Investigators are now convinced that it was a voluntary gesture, but checks continue to completely exclude other possibilities.

According to an initial reconstruction, the 14-year-old, in the first year of high school, had received a bad grade in a subject, like the rest of his class because during a surprise question they had all proved unprepared. During the interval between one lesson and the next, while there were no professors in the classroom and his classmates were chatting with each other, he would go up to the window sill and, after a few moments, let himself fall. Some classmates would have noticed what was happening - they told the investigators - and would have tried to stop him and make him give up.

The hypothesis is, therefore, that of the voluntary gesture but more in-depth investigations will serve to exclude with certainty the possibility that the boy has lost his balance, falling.

According to what is learned, when the rescue arrived on the spot, the 14-year-old was already dead, perhaps died on the spot.
