First case of the Omicron variant in the US: The US Centers for Disease Control, CDC, announced tonight (Wednesday) that a case of the new strain of corona virus has been identified in California.
"This is the first case of a corona patient diagnosed with the new strain," said Dr. Anthony Pauchi, a White House adviser on the fight against epidemics. CNN, Pauchi said the patient was vaccinated in two doses and he developed mild symptoms of the disease.
. @ CAPublicHealth, @SF_DPH & @UCSF have detected a case of the Omicron variant.
As we continue to learn more about Omicron, there is no reason to panic but we should remain vigilant.
We know how to protect ourselves from COVID - get vaccinated, get your booster & wear a mask.

It should be noted that the United States has begun tightening borders for immigrants from Africa, and charging corona tests for returnees from abroad, regardless of the vaccine. Add that due to the contagious ability of the strain, spread in the US is inevitable.
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden addressed the issue of the omicron and said the variant was "a source of concern, but not of panic."
The president added that "we will have to deal with these threats as we dealt with those that came before him."
