The Minister of Defense and the Chief of Staff agreed that the team will examine the unique climate in these organizations. • In addition, the team will present conclusions and recommendations in order to ensure appropriate conditions of service and a safe service environment that respects all soldiers.

Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi agreed today (Wednesday) that following the recent events, the IDF will establish a special team that will examine the recruitment process, escort and conditions of service of conscripts serving outside IDF units, including the police, service Prisons and other units.

The team, the IDF spokesman said, "will examine the unique climate in the organizations and present conclusions and recommendations in order to ensure appropriate conditions of service and a safe service environment that respects all female and male soldiers, even those who do not enlist in the army."

The establishment of the team comes against the background of the testimony of Gilboa Prison Commander Freddie Ben Sheetrit in the Commission of Inquiry into the Escape of Prisoners from Prison, regarding a pimp in prisons.

The IDF spokesman further stated that the decision was made "in light of the IDF's extensive responsibility towards those designated for security service, who enlist in the IDF or another security organization."
