The region has resources and offers the makers opportunities.

Christian Kopsch, the board member of "NSBE HeimatOffice" is convinced of this.

The company operates a coworking space on Münchner Strasse in Weilheim, which is now fully booked.

District

- The technical and social developments have led to a new trend that was intensified by the corona pandemic - working at home, says Kopsch.

He sees this development as a new opportunity for the regions.

In his opinion, more and more people will no longer want to waste time commuting to work in the big city.

However, since many of them do not have the working environment they need at home, work places need to be created in the individual communities.

“There are enough vacancies,” says Kopsch, and there is also demand.

You just have to bring supply and demand together.

This will now be done in cooperation with the market town of Peißenberg and the location promotion of the city of Weilheim.

The aims of the project include the promotion of sustainable local development by bringing together life and work in the localities and the promotion of social contacts despite digitization.

In the long term, communities are to be built up to ensure the continued existence of the new structures.

Environmental protection should also benefit from this.

Kopsch has decided to reduce the job-related mobility of the participants by 25 percent within one year by promoting work on site.

A few days ago the “HeimatOffice” platform went online, on which the resources are determined.

Anyone who wants to take part can initially make known their view of the location without any obligation and enter what they need in order to have good working conditions and which influencing factors play a role for them.

If you want to become a Regio-Scout, you can enter your job locations and contribute ideas.

Information is collected in the start-up phase, after which it should be possible to book suitable work environments in both municipalities.

This not only applies to offices, but also to workshops, alteliers and sales rooms.

The mayor of Weilheim, Markus Loth, thinks the project is “an exciting story”, his colleague from Peißenberg, Frank Zellner, says: “It fits right in with our times.” The HeimatOffice has been nominated for the “Xing New Work Award” for the project.

After the preliminary decision with 300 applicants, according to Kopsch, it came to the final round with seven participants.
