French President Emmanuel Macron harshly attacked British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, calling him a "clown" and a "useless man" due to a Brexit fuel crisis.
The things were revealed in the French magazine considered "La Canar Anshine", which tends to provide leaks and embarrassing revelations about the heads of state.
The remarks came after a meeting between the two leaders in Zagreb, Croatia, shortly before which the British leader published the contents of a letter he sent to Macron on the social network Twitter.
"Bujo (Johnson) talked to me, he's connected to reality, everything was fine, we have an adult discussion and then he sticks it out to me before or after the meeting in an incomprehensible way. It's always the same with him," Makron was furious with his assistants .
"Quick Mao, he realized that the situation is catastrophic for the British. There is no fuel in the pumps, there are full of missing things. He places himself as a victim. He makes France a scapegoat and turns this whole situation into a complicated problem. We have been in this situation since March,"
"It's so sad, that this mighty country, with which we could have done so much together, is led by a clown. Johnson and all his attitude are utterly useless," the French president was furious.
"He's a clown and runs this whole thing like a circus," Macron said.
Macron, a staunch opponent of Britain's exit from the EU, has sharply criticized Prime Minister Johnson in the past, who carried out the move following a serious legislative crisis in the UK over the approval of the move in a 2015 referendum.
