The Director of Readiness, Ambulance and Emergency at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Tawfiq Hassa, said in an exclusive statement to SANA: that Syria is not immune from the arrival of the new Corona mutant (Omicron), stressing that there is an emergency plan to deal with any increase in the number of injuries.

Dr. Hassa stressed the need to adhere to the measures to prevent the virus, especially receiving the vaccine, indicating that the number of people who completed doses of the Corona vaccine reached 600,000.

Hassaba indicated that the current number of Corona patients present in various hospitals in the governorates is two thousand, and the occupancy rate of intensive care beds ranges between 51 percent and 100 percent.

According to an account: The Masyaf area in Hama governorate recently recorded an increase in the number of HIV infections, as there are currently about 60 cases in the National Hospital, with a number of patients transferred to Hama National Hospital.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health, the confirmed Corona injuries last November decreased significantly to 4,866 cases, compared to 9,200 injuries last October, which recorded the largest official toll since the beginning of the virus’s spread in Syria.
