The automated carpet factory in As-Suwayda marketed approximately 5,155 square meters of its production during the past two months, at a value of more than 260 million pounds, while its production in the same period amounted to about 3,400 square meters on one shift.
The director of the laboratory, Engineer Hamad Al-Shoufi, said in a statement to SANA Economic Bulletin that the factory witnessed an active marketing movement during the last two months of October, as the entire stock was sold as a result of the increased demand for carpet purchases with the advent of the winter season.
Al-Shoufi pointed to the great efforts made by the workers and management to ensure the continuation of production in an acceptable manner and to overcome the difficulties encountered in the production process represented by the old looms, the large number of malfunctions, the old age of workers and the lack of labor, stressing the need to expedite the supply of the factory with modern looms and new specialized cadres.
The automated carpet factory in As-Suwayda was a market during the first half of this year, with an amount of about 7,762 square meters of production, with a value of about 263 million pounds, while its production amounted to 11,116 square meters.
