In the old village of Yau Kom Tau, Tsuen Wan, a poinciana tree was uprooted by typhoon "Lion Mountain" in October. It has been on the road for nearly two months. However, no government department has taken care of it and removed the fallen tree.

Some villagers complained that they had reported the case for help on the day of the collapse of the tree, and then called 1823 to complain, but the incident still ended.

Today, the collapsed tree made a cracking sound, and the entire tree trunk fell about one foot down. The villagers then reported the case again for help. Unexpectedly, the firefighters said there was no immediate danger. "Hong Kong 01" has inquired with the Fire Department and the Lands Department.

Mr. Zhang, a villager in the old village of Yougantou, said that the poinciana tree was uprooted by strong winds during the typhoon "Lion Mountain" in October.

On the same day, Mr. Zhang had immediately reported the case for help, but the firefighter said that he did not bring the appropriate tools to cut the fallen tree and would refer him to other departments for follow-up.

Mr. Zhang later found that there was no other government department staff to deal with, so he called 1823 to complain again. The relevant staff only said that they would hand it over to the Lands Department for follow-up, but the result was still nothing.

In the past two months, Mr. Zhang described the government as indifferent to the collapsed tree. The villagers in the old village of Yougantou had no choice but to pass through the "hole" about two meters high under the collapsed tree.

Today, Mr. Zhang heard the cracking sound of the trunk of the collapsed tree, and the entire trunk sank another foot, worrying that there would be a safety problem, so he reported again for help.

However, the firefighters who were present pointed out that there was no immediate danger of the fallen tree and did not saw the trunk to remove it. Instead, the villagers were also responsible for handling the fallen tree and that it would be handed over to the relevant departments for follow-up.

Mr. Zhang criticized the government departments for shirking each other's responsibilities, saying bluntly: "(Firefighting) can talk to us like this? If the tree is small, our villagers can do it by themselves. (Such a big tree) You call me It’s okay to help with the handsaw together, but as an answer, I’m so disappointed with this government."

Mr. Zhang pointed out that there are about 20 villagers in the old village of Yougantou, ranging from the elderly in their eighties to the children. They pass this path every day.

Mr. Zhang bluntly said: "The most frightening thing is that a tree will fall down, and it will cause death." Zhang suggested that government departments deal with it as soon as possible, and do not shirk responsibility.
