The head of the Operational Operations Unit, Engineer Hassan Khader, told SANA reporter, “The works were carried out at a record speed and exceptional efforts by workers and technicians, who saved millions of pounds through their work for the state,” adding that the work lasted for a month and a half and included calibrating faults, manufacturing damaged parts and conducting the necessary tests on The cells before installing them, conducting insulation and durability tests, and making sure that there is no gas leakage in them, and they are ready to be put into service again.

He explained that one of the cells is of the Spanish type “Ormazabal” and two of the “Areva” type, and the crossing insulators and bars insulators were damaged in addition to damage to the mechanics of the circuit breakers and a leak of “SF6” gas, indicating that the damaged parts were manufactured locally from insulators and mechanical and electrical parts due to the lack of The presence of replacement parts in the local market due to the unjust economic siege on Syria.

And 3 cells of 20 kVA were damaged during the current year due to cable malfunctions, which led to them being out of service and affecting several electrical stations in the city of Tartous.
