"Trafficking in arms and ammunition": indictment against two Border Police officers and seven civilians | Israel Today

The defendants, residents of Jerusalem, Haifa, Kfar Manda, Shefar'am and Shuafat, are charged with, among other things, conspiracy to commit a crime, shooting at a residence and negligence with a weapon.


The Police Investigations Department today (Thursday) filed an indictment in the Jerusalem District Court against two Border Police officers and seven other civilians - residents of Jerusalem, Haifa, Kfar Manda, Shefar'am and the Shuafat refugee camp. .

According to the indictment, which was filed through attorney Daniel Shahaf, the police officers served together in Judea and Samaria and in the course of their duties carried M-16 weapons and also had access to ammunition.

Last month one of the defendants turned to one of the officers and asked him to help him purchase a gun.

Following the request, the policeman turned to the other defendants and asked them to obtain a weapon for him.



As part of inquiries made to promote the arms deal, the other defendants asked the police officer for ammunition, in return and not in return.

According to another indictment, one of the police officers allowed his family members to shoot a weapon a few months ago.

The indictment attributes to the defendants (each according to his part) committing offenses of attempting to make another transaction in the weapon, aiding and abetting an attempt to make another transaction in the weapon, another transaction in the weapon, possession of ammunition, conspiracy to commit a crime.

The Department of Police Investigations has asked the court to order the detention of the defendants until the end of the legal proceedings against them.

The case was investigated by the Jerusalem staff in the Police Investigations Department and the Etgar Unit of the Police.
