Less than a week after the publication in Walla! Brenze on leaving Itai Waldman Mako, the site's management announces today (Thursday) the appointment of Omar Malka (40) to the position. Lior Yaniv (45) will be the group's VP of content and will manage the group's new content ventures, including 12+. Malka and Yaniv will join the management of the mako group under the direction of CEO Uri Rosen.
Malka joined the Keshet website in 2006 as a news editor and in 2008 was part of the founding section of mako and served as the editor of the celebs section on the site. In 2014 he was appointed director of the site's commercial collaborations department and about 3 years ago he returned to the content department as Waldman's deputy. At the same time he broadcast 11 years on Midway Radio. His appointment indicates the preservation of the site's character as entertainment.
Yaniv joined Mako five years ago and served as senior editor and content manager at Keshet on the site, after holding a number of senior editorial positions in the press, including Globes and the re-establishment of The Magazine.

Uri Rosen, CEO of the mako group: “This is a great opportunity to promote the top executives in the mako content department, and to divide the managerial responsibilities between them in a way that will allow for the proper attention to mako and the other content products.
"Keren, Lior and Omar led the department together in an impressive collaboration during Itai's maternity leave, and I'm sure they will continue to march mako and the other content brands to new heights."
