The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's vote in favor of two resolutions related to the State of Palestine.

In a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki noted the importance of the member states voting on the two resolutions related to the occupied city of Jerusalem and resolving the Palestinian issue at a time when the city is exposed to attempts to Judaize, steal land and displace Palestinians, which confirm the international position in support of the Palestinian people and the realization of their inalienable rights in accordance with the resolutions. At the forefront of which is Resolution 194, which affirms the right of refugees to return to their homes.

In the same context, Al-Maliki expressed his rejection and disapproval of the positions of the countries that abstained and opposed voting against the two resolutions, saying, “They are countries that lack principles and their positions are inconsistent with international law and put them in a position of hostility to the rights of the Palestinian people.” He called on those countries to review their policies, especially since the two resolutions call for the occupation to stop All his settlement plans in the occupied Palestinian territories and consider taking measures to hold him accountable for his crimes and violations in accordance with international law.

Yesterday, the United Nations General Assembly adopted by a majority two resolutions in favor of Palestine, one concerning the occupied city of Jerusalem and the other on solving the Palestinian issue.
