Eight people were killed and others injured in a collision in eastern China

Eight people were killed and three others injured in a bus-truck collision in east China's Anhui Province today.

"The accident occurred when a minibus collided with a truck on a highway in Qianshan City, the province, killing eight people and injuring three others," local police said in a statement.

Rescue teams are continuing their work at the scene, while local police have opened an investigation to find out the cause of the collision.
