The Iranian Foreign Minister estimated that an agreement on his nuclear program was "
within reach
" but depended on the "
goodwill
" of the West, deeming "
serious
" the talks which resumed earlier this week in Vienna.

A deal is at hand if the West shows goodwill.
We are looking for a rational, sober and result-oriented dialogue,
”the Iranian foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, said in a tweet published on the night of Wednesday 1 to Thursday 2 December.

The discussions in Vienna are taking place seriously and the priority remains the lifting of sanctions,
" he also said.

After a six-month hiatus, negotiations to try to relaunch the international Iran nuclear deal resumed in the Austrian capital on Monday.
Concluded in 2015 between the Islamic Republic and the great powers (United States, Russia, China, France, Germany, United Kingdom), the pact has been moribund since the unilateral withdrawal of the United States in 2018 and the reinstatement of sanctions, pushing for Tehran retaliates by breaking away from most of its commitments.
