Four people were injured when a World War II bomb exploded in Munich, in the south of the country, disrupting the movement of trains for some time.
Police said, according to AFP, that the explosion occurred in a construction site near the main railway station in Munich, and that one of the four wounded was seriously injured.
For its part, the railway company Deutsche Bahn reported that the bomb exploded during an excavation that was taking place near a bridge that all trains must cross to enter and exit the central station, noting that the traffic of all regional and international trains had to be disrupted for several hours.
The Minister of the Interior in the Bavarian state, Joachim Hermann, indicated that the bomb that exploded weighed 250 kg and did not explain why this bomb was not discovered before it exploded, especially since construction sites in Germany are usually subject to searches for unexploded bombs that may be buried in them before starting in drilling operations.
76 years after the end of World War II, Germany is still littered with unexploded bombs, which are often found on construction sites.
