Are talks on the Vienna nuclear deal on the way to a breakthrough?
The Reuters news agency announced today (Thursday) that Iran's representatives in negotiations on the nuclear deal in the Austrian capital have submitted two drafts of a possible agreement dealing with monitoring Iran's nuclear program and the removal of US sanctions on the Islamic Republic.
The head of the Iranian nuclear delegation, Ali Bakari-Kani, said: "We have passed two drafts to the powers. Of course they need to check the text we have passed on to them. If they are willing to continue talking, we have come to Vienna to continue the talks."
A European diplomat confirmed to the news agency that such documents had indeed been received from Iran.
Along with progress in negotiations, Iran is also taking care to broadcast threats to Washington.
The commander of the Revolutionary Guards Quds Force, General Ismail Kaani, said today: "We are telling the Americans, you still have a chance to leave our region in a degrading way, otherwise you will be deported worse from Afghanistan. Gone are the days when you could do as you pleased. The final is to revive your presence. "

The announcement comes after Iran earlier this week began using advanced hubs to enrich uranium, in violation of previous agreements with it.
The International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Iran had begun using advanced hubs at the Purdue uranium enrichment facility, an action it banned under the nuclear deal it signed with the powers in 2015.
Tehran's defiant attitude, while negotiating with the West and its representatives, was well expressed on Tuesday in the remarks of the commander of the Revolutionary Guards' Basij force, Golmarza Suleimani, who attacked the United States and Israel in a speech to his people in the west of the country.
"The United States has withdrawn from the region and it has actually been defeated. Its allies are disappointed with it. Israel is not the big problem, the United States is our great enemy. Israel has no future. We hear in their own news about their difficult internal problems," Suleimani said.
