The candidate, who came in fourth position, urged the “rally” behind the president of Île-de-France, who came second behind Eric Ciotti.

The between-two-rounds negotiations have already started.

After a month of campaigning, Eric Ciotti (25.59%) and Valérie Pécresse (25%) came out on top of the first round of the Republican Congress, which must nominate the right-wing candidate for the 2022 presidential election. Eliminated, Xavier Bertrand (22.26%), immediately announced his choice.

" he said on Twitter.

Support from Xavier Bertrand, the boss of LR deputies, Damien Abad, also opted for Valérie Pécresse, believing that despite the "
