From today to 4 December Rome returns to be at the center of international politics with the Rome Med Dialogues.

Now in their seventh edition, the dialogues, organized by the Farnesina and the ISPI, are now a fixed appointment on the global agenda and take place in mixed form, in presence and via video link: political leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, NGOs in the region Mediterranean and beyond will discuss the opportunities offered by the Mediterranean, as well as the numerous crises that surround and cross it.

The themes of the conference - of which ANSA is a media partner - are numerous and extremely relevant: they range from Yemen and its uncertain future, to the management of migration in the post-pandemic world; from the balance of power in the Mena region in relation to the involvement of the USA in the 'Mediterranean common goods', a subject very dear to Italy, to safety, energy, the environment.

Italy will be represented at the highest levels with speeches by Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, as well as Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini. Then there will be the EU Commissioner for Economic Affairs Paolo Gentiloni and, again from Brussels, the High Representative for EU foreign policy Josep Borrell.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, secretary general of the Arab League is expected in Rome; José Manuel Albares, Spanish Foreign Minister; Mohamed Ali Al-Hawiji, Libyan Minister of Economy; Riyad Al Malki, Palestinian Foreign Minister; Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, Saudi Foreign Minister; Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce of Riyadh; Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, Libyan premier, Fuad Hussein, Iraqi foreign minister and many others, some in attendance, some virtually.

One of the central themes, as always, is that of energy resources. Here are the interventions of Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, general secretary of OPEC; Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development of Morocco; by Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Enel, and Rafael Grossi, general manager ofAiea.

Once again the Med Dialogues offer themselves as a unique meeting point, even between countries that hardly sit in the same rooms, a place where even in complex times the exchange of ideas never stops.
