At about 6 o'clock in the evening this (2nd) evening, a train bound for Kennedy Town on the MTR line flew off when it reached Causeway Bay Station.
The MTR stated that due to a train failure at Causeway Bay Station, the current train service on the Island Line is blocked. Passengers are requested to allow sufficient time for the journey.
About 2 hours after the incident, the crowds on the streets of Causeway Bay have not dispersed yet.
By 8:45, the faulty train had moved away from the main traffic lane, and the engineering staff had carried out emergency repair work and checked the relevant sections to confirm the safety of traffic. The Hong Kong Island Line train service resumed to normal one after another.

The current Hong Kong Island Line train service needs to be adjusted:
