MZP, the right-wing hussar who challenges Orbanen Hungary

STORY - Mayor of a medium-sized town, Péter Marki-Zay was appointed to lead the opposition campaign to the legislative elections of 2022.


Three letters, MZP, shake the throne of the almighty master of Hungary Viktor Orban.

Marki-Zay, first name Péter, owes to his new notoriety to be qualified by his initials since he established himself as the federator of all the opposition, which, from the socialists to the most radical right through the liberals and environmentalists, can now claim to win the legislative elections next April in Hungary.

The political career of Viktor Orban, head of government in Budapest for the first time from 1998 to 2002, before returning to business by crushing his opponents since 2010, could therefore come to an end.

Beyond Budapest, the possible fall of the tutelary figure of the sovereignist rights in Europe also nourishes calculations and hopes throughout the Old Continent.
