Mikael Agasandian, the permanent Russian representative to the Collective Security Treaty Organization, warned of the uncontrollable dangers of modern weapons left by the US military and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Afghanistan.
"These huge quantities of modern weapons left by the Western coalition forces when fleeing from Afghanistan pose great risks that cannot be controlled," Agasandian said in a statement today, according to RIA Novosti.
The US forces withdrawing from Afghanistan left $85 billion worth of equipment and weapons, including 22,000 armored vehicles, 358,000 automatic rifles, 176 artillery pieces, 8,000 cargo vehicles, a large number of transport planes, and more than 100 helicopters.
