Two men who were driving this morning in Umm al-Fahm were shot while driving, and apparently as a result of the shooting, the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a truck that was passing on the road.
One of the passengers was fatally wounded and the other passenger, 28, was injured and is in a very serious condition. Upon receiving the report of the shooting, police and forensic investigators arrived at the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the incident while collecting findings from the scene.
At the same time, the police set up checkpoints and began searches.
The two occupants of the vehicle, whose identities are not yet known, were evacuated to the Emek Medical Center in Afula after being treated by MDA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene following a report at the Gilboa area center.
Paramedic Hossam Agbaria said: "When we arrived at the scene we saw the wounded man sitting in the cab, conscious and suffering from penetrating injuries to his body. We provided him with life-saving medical treatment in the field, which included medication and bleeding, put him in an intensive care unit and evacuated him to hospital."
