Tehran, SANA- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian reiterated his country’s seriousness in reaching an agreement

Tehran-Sana

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian reiterated his country's seriousness in reaching a good agreement in the current Vienna talks on the nuclear agreement, pointing out at the same time that Tehran is not optimistic about the intentions of the United States and European Troika countries.

"We welcome serious negotiations and a good agreement, which obliges the other parties to show their good intentions," Abdullahian was quoted as saying during a phone call today with Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa, adding that "the Islamic Republic of Iran participated in these talks with serious determination and schedule." Clear and reasonable actions, but we are not optimistic about the will and intentions of the United States and the three European countries.”

Abdullahian pointed out that "officials in Washington emphasize on the one hand the necessity of negotiations and a return to the nuclear agreement, but on the other hand they impose a new embargo on Iranian people and institutions," noting that "the most important aspect is that the talks be based on results and that the Westerners show a serious will and goodwill. On the ground and while sitting at the negotiating table.”

On bilateral issues, the Iranian Foreign Minister affirmed his country's readiness to expand cooperation in the economic, trade and health fields with Japan.

For his part, the Japanese Foreign Minister indicated his country's desire to strengthen its relations with Iran, including in the fields of health, environment and tourism, expressing his welcome for the resumption of the Vienna talks and calling on the dialogue parties to "show flexibility to reach an agreement that satisfies both sides."

On Monday, in the Austrian capital, Vienna, talks began between Iran and the Group of Four Plus One to revive the nuclear agreement signed with Iran in 2015, where the Iranian side insists on lifting all sanctions as a condition to reach satisfactory results.
