The National Unit for Prison Investigations at Lahav 433 has summoned the commander of Gilboa Prison, Freddie Ben Sheetrit, to testify this coming Monday about the pimp affair in prisons.
Ben Sheetrit is expected to tell investigators that he was exposed to information about the prison pimp while he was the assistant to IPS Commissioner Asher Vaknin, who received the findings of the investigation that allegedly raised an evidentiary basis against the intelligence officer for breach of trust and abuse of police force.
Ben Sheetrit was well acquainted with the things that came up during the investigation and therefore testified under oath before the government investigation committee that he was pimped out of the Gilboa prison.

The affair resurfaced following a mention last week in the testimony of the current commander of Gilboa Prison, Freddie Ben Sheetrit, in the Committee for the Failure of the Escape of Security Prisoners.
As part of the affair, Muhammad Atallah, a life prisoner from the Fatah organization, is accused of indecent acts in the prisons of Gilboa Prison.
In testimony, Ben Sheetrit said that in 2017, Rani Basha, the intelligence officer at Gilboa Prison, allegedly asked to place guards in the security wing in accordance with the prisoner's requests.
During his interrogation at the National Prison Investigation Unit, the intelligence officer admitted that he specifically asked certain wardens for the wing since Atallah had pierced the oil.
