An indictment has been filed against Amsalem Hasson and Eid Hasson, who slightly and moderately injured an Israeli.

Following an investigation by the General Security Service, in cooperation with the Israel Police, two residents of Lod were arrested on suspicion of firing and injuring an Israeli lightly during Operation Guardian of the Walls, the publication was allowed today (Thursday).

The suspects are family members: 29-year-old Amsalem Hasson and 28-year-old Eid Hasson.

As part of their investigation, it emerged that the two had carried out a shooting attack and were even involved in other riots that occurred during that period in Lod.

An indictment was filed against the two.

According to the indictment, during the "Wall Guard" operation, a gathering began outside the defendants' house. The two were present at the scene wearing masks and equipped with pistols, when they noticed that some of the crowd was Jewish, Amsalem pulled out his pistol and fired two shots into the air, in order to intimidate the Jewish residents who arrived at the compound. The defendants then went to a nearby residential building overlooking the gathering compound, and began firing together a large number of shots in the direction of the Jewish residents. Amsalem recognized that one of those present belonged to MDA and fired at him from a distance of ten meters a bullet that hit the volunteer's leg and injured him. At this point the two defendants fled the scene and hid the guns in a hiding place.

At another time during the operation, Amsalem believed that a vehicle approaching his home was a Jewish vehicle and fired three bullets into the air, in order to intimidate those in the vehicle.

Later that evening he left his house and walked around the city, carrying a loaded pistol and a Kalashnikov rifle openly.

A few days later, he sold the Kalashnikov to another person for NIS 45,000.

At another time, Amsalem was involved in a riot incident in the city during the funeral of the late Musa Hassona, in which he threw a number of stones at police forces who were present at the scene.

Amsalem later crossed the country's borders into Turkey, among other things to make it difficult to locate him, and returned to Israel long afterwards - during the month of November 2021.

"He did not hesitate to harm the Jews"

For the incidents described, Amsalem Hasson was charged with the offenses of aggravated intentional act of sabotage, firearm firearm, carrying a weapon, accessory and ammunition, obstruction of justice, arms trafficking, aggravated assault on a police officer and rioting.

Aid is charged with the offenses of a terrorist act of aggravated intentional sabotage, carrying a weapon, accessory and ammunition and obstruction of justice.

In parallel with the indictments, a request for detention was filed against the two until the end of the proceedings, in which Advocate Steinberg wrote in reference to each of the defendants that "during the period relevant to the acts the respondent possessed a number of weapons Jews in the wake of the May riots.

"The respondent's access to weapons and his choice to use them out of a nationalist and ideological motive illustrate his extreme danger to man, to the public and to the state."
