The State Attorney, Amit Isman, decided today (Thursday) to file an indictment against Edward Kachura for the aggravated murder of the little girl Yael Melnik.
In recent days, the police have carried out a number of investigative completions, which were ordered by the State Attorney at a meeting held under his leadership.

Upon completion of the investigation, the State Attorney decided, in the opinion of the Deputy State Attorney for Criminal Affairs and the opinion of the District Attorney, to file an indictment against the suspect.
The Israel Police will submit a prosecutor's statement to the court in the coming hours, in which it will request the continuation of Kachura's detention until the indictment is completed and submitted to the court together with a request for his detention until the end of the proceedings, in the coming days.

Melnik's body was found half-buried at the Binyana site near Kachura's home with whom she had a romantic affair that began while she was being treated at a mental hospital where the suspect worked.
