Yesterday morning (1st), a one-year-old wild boar broke into the area of Yingwanyuan housing estate at No. 109 Repulse Bay Road and searched for food on the nearby grassy slope, alarming the security to call for help.
The Fisheries and Conservation Department stated that the two wild boars had been caught in the urban area and relocated to the countryside. Considering that they would pose a danger to the public when they appeared in residential houses, they were caught and treated humanely.
After the implementation of the new measures, a total of 14 wild boars were humanely destroyed.
Early in the morning yesterday, a freshman and one young wild boar broke into the area of the Yingwanyuan housing estate at No. 109 Repulse Bay Road and then searched for food on the nearby slope. The security called the police for help.
After the police arrived at the scene, they maintained a period of isolation with the wild boars and called the Fisheries and Conservation Department officers to the scene. The AFCD said today that it had received a referral from the police stating that a wild boar had broken into a housing estate in Repulse Bay. It sent officers to inspect it and found two female wild boars weighing about 25 and 70 kilograms respectively in the relevant housing estate.
According to records, the two wild boars were caught in the urban area and relocated to the countryside. Considering that the two wild boars would pose a danger to the public when inhabited by residential houses, the department captured them and handled them humanely.
