Today, Baraem Association for Child Care in Sweida, in cooperation with the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, organized an event on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
During the event, in which 32 children with disabilities and their peers participated, trees were planted in pots at the association’s headquarters by the children, with the help of the parents, and recreational activities were held “games..dances..music” and an art exhibition at the headquarters of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, while introducing the people to the work of the training center Vocational empowerment of persons with disabilities economically.
The Director of Social Affairs and Labor, Eng. Samer Bahsas, indicated to SANA's reporter that this event comes within the framework of concern and psychological support for people with disabilities and the need to share this with many NGOs and institutions concerned with them.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Baraem Association for Child Care in Sweida, Firas Zahreddine, pointed out that the event is in line with the efforts made to shed light on the segment of children with disabilities and the need to pay attention to them, support them and involve them in various activities.
While the official of the home rehabilitation program for people with disabilities in the association, Madeleine Choucair, stated that the event provided an opportunity for the children to meet with their families to carry out a joint work by planting plants, in order to emphasize the role of care and follow-up in the growth of these children to show their maximum potential.
On the third of December every year, countries around the world celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
