(When the Metal Speaks) A sentence embodied by the creative works of metal and environmental synthesis by the plastic artist Ismail Shatian, and it was the title of his exhibition held at the Cultural Center in Salamiyah.
The exhibition, which dealt with various life and human themes, saw the artist as a proposal for a new artistic idea of its kind, which is to recycle the remains of damaged iron grafted with scrap and wire to become, after adapting iron and scrap, despite their hardness and extreme hardness, as artistic models that express details and images of life.
In a statement to SANA, Shetian explained that his ideas and concerns were embodied in a practical way through the exhibition, by forming sculptures and models with an unprecedented aesthetic value, according to his description.
In a statement to SANA, Hanan Al-Qusair, head of the Arab Cultural Center in Salamiyah, praised the initiative of the artist Shatyan for lighting, on the importance of recycling and reusing the environment, benefiting from it, and transforming it from a source of visual and environmental pollution into useful tools and materials.
The importance of the exhibition, according to Al-Qusayr, is that the origin of its exhibits is the pieces of junk that leave the viewers with a feeling of paradox that they have turned from solid, mute pieces to talking models presented by Shatyan in the shapes of women, horses, swans, guitars, scorpions, planes and birds, even though it took a great effort to design and required high skill and craftsmanship.
