Abstract.
On September 2, nearly 12 and a half million students return to France.
On this occasion, we fear an upsurge in the Covid-19 epidemic.
However, a month later, all indicators remain green.
The situation is reassuring and the government even decides to close the vaccination centers.
But in several countries of Eastern Europe, there is an epidemic resurgence.
Gradually, all of Europe is affected by a fifth wave.
On November 9, Emmanuel Macron declared in a televised address: "We are not done with the pandemic".
The vaccination campaign resumes, as scientists in South Africa identify a new variant of concern: Omicron.
Source code takes stock of the epidemic with Aurélie Sipos and Nicolas Berrod, journalists at Le Parisien.
