A plumber doing repairs at the Lakewood church, owned by the famous telepreacher Joel Osteen, found envelopes full of money and checks behind a loose toilet, according to officials of the religious institution, located in Texas.
The plumber detailed his find, made Nov. 10, on the morning show on radio station 100.3 The Bull, a Houston country music station.

"There was a loose toilet in the wall, and we removed the tile,"
said the plumber, according to the KPRC station.
“We went to remove the toilet, and when we removed a piece, about 500 envelopes fell off the wall, and I was like, 'Oh wow!'” He added.

The plumber contacted the maintenance supervisor and handed over the envelopes.
It is not clear how much money there was.
“Recently, while repair work was underway at the Lakewood church, an undisclosed amount of cash and checks was found.
Lakewood immediately notified the Houston Police Department and is assisting with their investigation, ”a church representative told KPRC.
The US added nearly 60% fewer jobs than forecast.

The discovery of the money comes after $ 600,000 in checks and cash disappeared from the church safe in 2014, according to the Houston Chronicle.
No arrests were made in the case, and the Houston Police Department investigation remains open.
