The prefect believes that this weekend "will be decisive". Traders fear a closure.

We must save the Christmas market.

Since this Friday, which heralds the busiest weekend in December, the health pass is required at the entrance to the two largest sites of the Strasbourg Christmas market.

Imposed by the prefect of the Grand Est, Josiane Chevalier, in concert with the city of Strasbourg, this measure targets the historic Christkindelsmärik of Place Broglie and that of Place Kléber, around the big tree.

Friday, from the opening, at 11 am, the first checks were carried out, visitors willingly unsheathing their phone or taking out a paper from the bottom of their bag.

A man is surprised:

"Checkpoints again?"
