According to the government, the Disciplinary Services Council has accepted the government’s invitation to return to the Salary Conference after learning that the pay trend will improve the annual pay trend survey method and increase transparency.

After the police council and the disciplined services council rejoined, the pay trend survey committee gathered four central civil service councils.

Withdrew with the Police Council in 2013

The Police Council and the Disciplinary Services Council withdrew from the Salary Conference in 2013, and the Police Council will return to the Salary Conference after 2018.

Together with the original senior civil service council and the first standard salary scale civil service council, the four central civil service councils have gathered for the first time since 2013.

A spokesperson for the Civil Service Bureau said that although the two councils have withdrawn, the government has always maintained close contact with staff representatives and listened to opinions on a number of issues including civil service pay adjustments through different channels.

The spokesman pointed out that the gathering of representatives from the four central civil service councils marked a new stage of closer cooperation between the two sides of civil servants and managers.

The government will also strive to strengthen communication with staff representatives under the current pay adjustment mechanism, so that staff representatives can express their opinions more fully in the process.
