A positive dynamic?
At the end of the first round of the LR congress, where Éric Ciotti and Valérie Pécresse took the lead, Brice Hortefeux, former Minister of the Interior of Nicolas Sarkozy, was delighted with the high participation in the ballot (80.89% ).
According to him, the very clear increase in the number of LR militants, which has almost doubled in two months, proves the current form of the party.
“Today, the Republicans have roughly the same number of members as when the UMP was created in 2002,”
he said, just after the result of the vote, on BFMTV.
