An elementary school in Châteauroux was the scene of carbon monoxide poisoning on Thursday 2 December, reports France Bleu Berry.
The incident mobilized the Castelroussins firefighters for several hours, who had to take special care of around twenty children who were quite affected.

During class time, teachers notice unusual behaviors in many of their students that indicate having a headache and experiencing nausea.
Some also seem to doze off "
or even fall asleep suddenly,
" said the radio station.
The teachers decide to alert the firefighters, who arrive around 4 p.m.
The level of carbon monoxide in the blood of children is noted and it is analyzed as abnormal.
Nothing "
serious
" nevertheless, assures France Bleu Berry, since it would correspond to that of an adult smoker.
School closed to determine the causes of the incident
Of the 190 schoolchildren in the establishment, support was only necessary for a small part. Ten children were thus transported to hospital for additional examinations while 13 others were placed on oxygen for a time. "
There is no panic at all, the children are fine,
" reassured Gil Averous, the mayor of Châteauroux at France Bleu Berry.
However, the origin of the intoxication is still unknown.
The pupils are in CP, CE1 and CM2, "
have not eaten the same thing, have not attended the same places
".
No leak could be located either in the school by the firefighters and GRDF and “
the hypothesis of a gas leak and a malfunction of the heating system was ruled out after checking the buildings and the rooms. class,

In order to carry out new checks, it was decided to leave the school closed this Friday which will also be the subject of a thorough cleaning.
