2021-12-03T08:36:36.339Z

For the candidate of La France insoumise, Emmanuel Macron embodies “a more civilized right” than that of the Republicans.

After a month of internal campaigning, the Les Républicains activists have made their choice.

For the first round, they placed Éric Ciotti (25.59%) and Valérie Pécresse (25%) at the top of the podium, thus eliminating Michel Barnier (23.93%), Xavier Bertrand (22.36%) and Philippe Juvin (3.13%).

Results for some unexpected, and which make Jean-Luc Mélenchon say that "

the republican right

" has disappeared.

The leader of the rebels had expressed a wish.

In our columns of November 11, he pleaded, "

in the interest of the country

", for "

the return of a republican right which defends in its own way the principles that we have in common since the Liberation

".

But faced with the surprise victory of Eric Ciotti, holding a firm line, and debates largely focused on questions of security and immigration, Jean-Luc Mélenchon is almost nostalgic.

"It's a surly speech"

The day after the results of the first round, he therefore deplores the “

disappearance

” of a “

appeased

right

, of “

the bourgeois republic

” and for which workers and employees sometimes voted.

This right is made up of "

people who ardently defend Republican principles

" but "

do not go overboard like that

".

According to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, “

many people who were once in the Christian democracy

” “then

recognized themselves in the RPR

”.

But those days are over.

And "

now

", "

it is a surly speech

" which took the top.

To this disappearance, the suitor adds a dire future.

For him, the “

promised fate

” of the right is now “

to be stripped on one side by the extreme right, and on the other side by Mr. Macron

”.

Although he is one of his fervent adversaries, Jean-Luc Mélenchon even admitted to the Head of State that he embodied "

a more civilized right

", in opposition to that of the Republicans who "

horrifies

" "

people. right

”.
