The parents of the teenager accused of killing four students and injuring seven others at a Michigan high school may face charges.
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said Thursday that they will announce within the next 24 hours if charges are brought against the parents of
Ethan Crumbley, the 15-year-old suspected of being the perpetrator of a mass shooting at Oxford High School
. in suburban Detroit, The Washington Post reported.
McDonald has not provided details on the exact nature of the charges against the parents.
In addition, the county sheriff, Michael Bouchard, confirmed that
the pistol that Crumbley used was bought legally by his father at a local gun store
, days before the massacre.

The young man is being charged as an adult and faces various charges, including terrorism and four first-degree murder charges.

The teenager was called to the school superintendent's office before the shooting but "no punishment was justified."
“I want you to know that there has been a lot of talk about the student who was arrested, who was called to the office and all that kind of thing.

"Yes this student had contact with our main office, and, yes,
his parents were on campus on November 30," he
added.
These had been summoned to the school, after teachers reported strange behavior of the minor.

Throne said the Oxford institute looks like a "war zone" and won't be ready for weeks.
However, he repeatedly acknowledged the students and staff for the way they responded to Tuesday's violence.
“To say that I am still in shock and stunned is probably an understatement.
These events that have occurred will not define us, ”Throne said, grim-faced and speaking slowly, in a 12-minute video.
Family and friends organize a vigil that will take place this Friday in a local park.
