Michigan authorities consider filing charges against the parents of the suspect in the shooting

The parents of the teenager accused of killing four students and injuring seven others at a Michigan high school may face charges.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said Thursday that they will announce within the next 24 hours if charges are brought against the parents of

Ethan Crumbley, the 15-year-old suspected of being the perpetrator of a mass shooting at Oxford High School

. in suburban Detroit, The Washington Post reported.

McDonald has not provided details on the exact nature of the charges against the parents.

In addition, the county sheriff, Michael Bouchard, confirmed that

the pistol that Crumbley used was bought legally by his father at a local gun store

These had been summoned to the school, after teachers reported strange behavior of the minor.

Throne said the Oxford institute looks like a "war zone" and won't be ready for weeks.

However, he repeatedly acknowledged the students and staff for the way they responded to Tuesday's violence.

“To say that I am still in shock and stunned is probably an understatement.

These events that have occurred will not define us, ”Throne said, grim-faced and speaking slowly, in a 12-minute video.
