The new cases all involved infections of variant virus strains, involving one man and two women, aged 23 to 51 years.

One of the cases, 12453, was a 51-year-old crew member who arrived in Hong Kong via the cargo ship Glory Sky from Japan on December 1 and was asymptomatic. The samples collected on the ship tested positive.

Preliminary epidemiological investigations revealed that the ship came to Hong Kong for cargo loading and unloading. There were about 20 crew members on board. None of them landed ashore after entering Hong Kong waters, and no local staff had ever boarded the ship after arriving in Hong Kong.

The center will send the confirmed crew members to the hospital for isolation and treatment. The rest of the crew members on the cargo ship must stay on board for quarantine and undergo testing in accordance with current arrangements.

Case 12452 is a 23-year-old woman who arrived in Hong Kong from South Korea on December 1 on OZ721 and was asymptomatic. The patient had been vaccinated with Fubital vaccine in South Korea and was diagnosed at the airport when she arrived in Hong Kong.

Case 12454 is a 28-year-old woman who arrived in Hong Kong from the United States on SQ007 on December 1, but she developed cough and runny nose before boarding on November 25. The patient had been vaccinated in Hong Kong in June and July this year. Bitex vaccine.

Since she had stayed in Hong Kong during the 21-day incubation period, Anjian Building, Andian Village, Lam Tin, where she lived, had to be enclosed for compulsory testing last night.
