Jiuhuajing BBQ has been operating without a license for more than 18 years, and its odor, noise, light pollution, illegal parking and other issues continue to affect nearby residents.
Government departments have carried out raids on many occasions, and even set up a number of warning banners in the district that read "Do not patronize the Jiuhua Path unlicensed barbecue site! Violators will be prosecuted." However, the situation has not improved.
Today, the barbecue site has been closed, and the signboard may have been removed and covered by white cloth.
Hong Tai, who lives near the barbecue site, said that the barbecue site has troubled local residents for more than a decade, and a strong barbecue smell comes out every night in autumn and winter.
Although the housing estate she lives in is some distance away from the barbecue site, she still expresses concern that the smell of barbecue contains toxic substances and affects her health.
Mrs. Hong also mentioned that many people gather at the barbecue site on weekends, saying that if the barbecue site is closed at 11 or 12 in the evening, it will cause noise nuisance to nearby residents.
Hong Tai said that the barbecue site has troubled local residents for more than 10 years, and a strong barbecue smell comes out every night in autumn and winter.

Lin Shaohui once stated on a radio program that the Jiuhuajing barbecue site belongs to the ancestral hall, so the government has been unable to find relevant stakeholders to deal with the problem.
He added that if the authorities want to solve the problem from the root cause, they should have an in-depth understanding of "who is the owner of the place", "who collects rent from the Jiuhuajing barbecue site", and "whether the Jiuhuajing barbecue site is rented or occupied."
