A total of 55 countries have been included by the Hong Kong government as high-risk areas in Group A, accounting for about one-quarter of the total number of countries.

Among them, 12 African countries have been included in the enhanced surveillance areas. Those who come to Hong Kong from these countries will have to stay at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center for the first 7 days after arriving in Hong Kong, before being transferred to the scheduled quarantine hotel and quarantined for another 14 days.


The government announced earlier that in order to prevent problems, it will designate the areas where Omicron cases are found as Group A designated areas.
