The Munich public prosecutor's office is investigating the former MAN works council
chief Athanasaios Stimoniaris
(50). It is about the allegation of infidelity, said a spokeswoman on Friday and thus confirmed a report by "Business Insider". Several high-ranking managers were also among the accused, including the former MAN personnel manager
Martin Rabe
(40). The spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office did not provide any further details, citing tax secrecy. At MAN no one could initially be reached for comment.
According to the Business Insider Report, the investigation is about the private use of company cars.
The managers worked together so that the works council boss could use company vehicles privately, it said, citing a MAN investigation report.
In order to cover this up, the company vehicles' logbooks were manipulated.
MAN belongs to the listed truck manufacturer Traton, the majority of which is owned by the Volkswagen Group.
Stimoniaris, known as "Saki", left the company in a flash in August.
At the time, MAN did not provide any more precise information about his departure.
Stimoniaris had previously clashed with the board during the Kulturkampf at Traton.
Rabe left a few weeks later.
The reason given was that he wanted to take parental leave.
He had previously had a steep career after starting as a consultant in the works council in 2012.
His post was temporarily taken over by Traton HR Director
Bernd Osterloh
(65);
After many years as Chairman of the Works Council of the Volkswagen Group, he moved to the Traton Board of Management in 2020.
