Against the background of the fear that 30 Israelis have contracted the Omicron strain, the Ministry of Health publishes today (Friday) the state of corona spread in Israel.

About 478 verified patients were discovered in the last day and there are 5,369 active patients in Israel.

122 patients are in critical condition, of whom 77 are in critical condition and 23 are connected to Acme.

There was an increase in the number of verified weekly, when last week the average was 509 verified while this week it was 565 verified.

At the same time, the coefficient of infection dropped to 1.

Since the outbreak of the plague, 8,199 people have died from the virus, while in the last three days no one has died from the corona.

In the last day we vaccinated 9,151 in the first dose of the corona, while on Wednesday we vaccinated in the first dose 8,631 people and in the third 10,033, this after the approval of the child vaccine given last month.

Fear that a student in Bnei Brak became infected with Omikron

As you may recall, the number verified for the Omicron variant in Israel rose to three yesterday.

The third verified is Prof. Elad Maor (45), a cardiologist from Sheba, who recently returned from the UK and was diagnosed as positive.

It is vaccinated with three doses of Pfizer vaccine.

Maor told the Guardian that he estimates he was infected during a medical conference in London, which was attended by 1,200 participants.

Although he has been in contact with patients and has been present since returning to physician conferences, only one other physician is known to have contracted from him.

The flooring results of the additional doctor have not yet been received.

Further verified returned from Malawi and vaccinated with the Astrazenica vaccine;

Another verified, 32, returned from South Africa and vaccinated with a booster.

As mentioned, apart from these three, there is a high suspicion of infection with Omicron among another 30 people, for whom the results of the genetic flooring have not yet been received.

Of these, 24 people are unprotected (that is, unvaccinated, recovering half a year after recovery, or vaccinated with a second dose that has passed since six months).

Of those 30 suspicious cases: 11 returned from abroad or met with those who had recently returned from abroad.

By the way, so far the verified rate among those returning from abroad is only 0.16%.

In addition, there are 12 other cases that have been defined as "low suspicion," that is, samples that have been defined as borderline positive and therefore sent for re-examination.

Of these, in eight cases the suspicion of Lorient Omicron exposure, after flooring, has already been removed.

Meanwhile, yesterday there was also a concern that a kindergarten student in Bnei Brak had contracted omicron.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Health instructed the parents of the girls who were near her to take precautions until the test results arrive.

The Bnei Brak municipality wanted to emphasize that the case has not yet been verified, so as of the date of closing the issue, there are no carriers of the new strain in the city.

To date, more than 66,000 children between the ages of 5 and 11 have been vaccinated.

The GSS 'location was stopped

Also, at midnight, the emergency regulations approved by the government expired, after the prime minister and health minister decided not to continue operating GSS locators to locate verified ovarian strains.

The Prime Minister's Office noted that the placements "contributed during the week to amputating adhesive chains," while Minister Horowitz explained: "I emphasized from the first moment that the use of the tool will be limited and very short, and that is what we did."

In the evening, Prime Minister Bennett convened the professionals in the Ministry of Health to discuss the recent restrictions imposed at Ben Gurion Airport.

The easing of the entry of vaccinated people into the country was not accepted, and it was decided to impose an automatic fine of NIS 2,500 on those who do not carry out an inspection on the third day after landing. The decision will take effect within weeks.
