A further step has been taken in the process of appointing the right-wing candidate for 2022. We stamped our feet all morning yesterday before seeing our patience finally rewarded. Eric Ciotti took the lead in this first round of the LR Congress, followed very, very closely by Valérie Pécresse ... and Xavier Bertrand and Michel Barnier. For the losers, the defeat came slowly and is relatively bitter. But without being demolished, they - almost with one voice - gave their support to the president of Île-de-France. More than a big day to wait and we will finally know definitively who will be the champion dubbed by the right to embark on the race for the Élysée.
