Freising

- The spread of the new Corona variant B.1.1.529 ("Omikron") in South Africa has caused international concern. The WHO has classified the variant as a variant of concern (VOC). The states of South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe are considered virus variant areas because of the omicron variant found there.

People who have

been entering Bavaria by land since November 28

and have been in one of these virus variant areas at any time in the past ten days prior to entry are required

to take a PCR test upon entry or immediately after entry

.

The test result

must be submitted to the district administrative authority responsible

for your place of residence or other place of residence

no later than 48 hours

after entry

.

In the Freising district, the result can be sent by email to

einreise@kreis-fs.de

, the district authority has now announced.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Freising: Free PCR test for travelers from Omikron virus variant areas

Affected persons who arrive in the district of Freising or who have arrived since November 28th can have the

necessary PCR test carried out free of charge in the test center at the Luitpold facility in Freising

.

A separate time slot will be available in the test center from Monday, December 6, 2021, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

When registering at www.coronatest-fs.de, you can specify “Entry from virus variant area” as the test reason and book an appointment.

Appropriate receipts such as hotel bills or flight tickets must be submitted as proof of the stay.

In addition, travelers from a corresponding virus variant area and people who have had contact with someone who tested positive for the Omikron variant must generally be quarantined for 14 days - this also applies to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered.

All these people must also have a PCR test carried out on days 5 and 13 of the ordered quarantine.
