A couple of men and women were arrested in a police attack on Tan Kwai Tsuen Road, Yuen Long, off a village house yesterday (1st).
At 5 pm on the day of the incident, while police officers were at the site to crack down on illegal parking, the 23-year-old man surnamed Situ was emotional and attacked one of the police officers with his hand.
Upon seeing this, the two comrades in the same group stepped forward to uniform but failed. The man continued to attack 3 police officers with his hands.
In the meantime, the man accompanied a 22-year-old female friend surnamed Zhao, who was suspected of obstructing the arrest of the male suspect.
After preliminary investigation, the male suspect was suspected of assaulting the police and resisting arrest, and his female friend was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police officers from performing their duties. The case was handed over to the Yuen Long Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
In the incident, the three police officers and the suspect were injured on their heads, hands, knees and chest respectively. They were consciously sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.
The male suspect has been charged today (2nd) with one count of assaulting a police officer and one count of resisting arrest, while the female suspect has been charged with one count of obstructing police officers from performing their duties.
The case will appear in Tuen Mun Magistracy tomorrow (3rd) morning.
