US State Department: Lavrov and Blinken's talks in Stockholm were frank

The US State Department described the recent talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Anthony Blinken in Stockholm as "frank and professional".

And the media quoted US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman as saying during a symposium at the Brookings Institution in Washington: “The conversation between Lavrov and Blinken was very friendly, professional and frank.”

Lavrov assured Blinken yesterday that dragging Ukraine into the US geopolitical game will have dire consequences, calling for the establishment of sustainable security guarantees on Russia's and the West's borders within the framework of Russia's obligatory and legitimate demand.

Lavrov's talks with Blinken took place in Stockholm on the sidelines of the OSCE meetings.
