The new corona rules also affect retailers: the 2G rule will apply there from Wednesday.
Business people at Tegernsee explain how to deal with the new situation.
Gmund / Bad Wiessee
- Peter Bayerschmidt has mixed feelings about the pre-Christmas business in the coming weeks.
Fragrances and care products, such as those available in his perfumeries in Gmund, Bad Wiessee and Miesbach, are relatively high on the hit list of gifts.
Now, however, the following applies: From Wednesday, according to the new 2G regulation for retail, only vaccinated and convalescent people will be allowed into his shops.
2G in retail: Customers will probably have to put up with waiting times
Bayerschmidt fears that customers may have to wait during rush hours due to the controls.
“That doesn't exactly create a good atmosphere at the shop door,” fears the 48-year-old, who has been running the three branches since 2013.
In addition, the duty of inspection means increased personnel costs for the entrepreneur.
Nevertheless, Bayerschmidt is happy that he can at least leave his shops open this time.
The situation is not quite as bad as last year, says the businessman.
Back then, the pandemic and lockdown had forced store owners to close their doors completely.
“2G is better there,” says Bayerschmidt pragmatically.
Parfümerie Bayerschmidt has also set up a delivery service
In general, the entrepreneur has meanwhile created alternative channels to bring his products to customers.
He'll probably be offering the tried and tested Call & Collect again.
Means: If you are not allowed into the shop, you should be able to pre-order the goods by phone and receive them in front of the shop door.
Bayerschmidt also set up a delivery service a long time ago.
Customers can send a photo of the desired product via WhatsApp and have it delivered to their home.
As a one-woman company, Elektro Zill is struggling with the new requirements
Claudia Zill from Wiesse is facing major challenges with the new 2G rule.
The 50-year-old - recently also chairwoman of the Aktive Wiesseer advertising initiative - runs a small electronics store on Söllbachtalstrasse and is actually always alone in the shop.
If she is in the consultation, she cannot examine another customer's 2G certificate at the same time.
“I actually need a second person for the controls,” explains the entrepreneur.
She now hopes that her customers will understand when they have to wait in front of the shop door before Zill can carry out the inspection.
The Wiesseerin has already prepared the note with the note “Access only with 2G” and will post it on the shop door next week.
2G in retail: business people hope that customers will understand
Zill classifies the situation for her business as "quite dramatic".
December is one of the months with the highest turnover, and because of the new regulation, according to which unvaccinated people no longer have access to the shops, “lock out a relatively large number of customers”.
Zill would also like to offer those concerned that they bring the desired goods outside.
Like Zill, Bayerschmidt also hopes that customers will respond to the new situation with understanding and courtesy.
"If the customers proactively approach us with their evidence, then it will be quick," says Bayerischmidt.
“Otherwise it will be difficult.”
Retailers in the Miesbach and Holzkirchen region are also struggling with the new 2G regulation.
