In the video: Three people killed in a car accident near Tamra (according to section 27A)

Eight people were killed in road accidents over the weekend.

Three were killed in an accident near Tamra, three others, including a six-year-old boy, in a collision between two vehicles in Benjamin, a man overturned with his vehicle at a tent junction in the south and a tractor driver overturned near Araba in the north.

A group of young people in Haifa in their twenties were killed in an accident at the Tamra junction in the Lower Galilee on their way back from the village of Kabul.

According to the police, the driver lost control of the vehicle, collided with a sidewalk and a guardrail, flew through the air and hit a concrete pillar.

Their friends who returned to the scene watched firefighters try to rescue them from the crushed car.

A few hours earlier, an Israeli vehicle and a Palestinian vehicle collided on Road 465 at the Ofarim junction in Binyamin.

A boy was killed in the Israeli vehicle, and the other passengers were seriously injured - including a nine-year-old girl, and a man and woman in their 30s.

They were evacuated to Sheba Tel Hashomer and Beilinson hospitals.

Earlier yesterday, a 47-year-old tractor driver was killed when he overturned on a dirt road between Araba and Road 7955 in the north. Medical teams who arrived at the scene performed resuscitation operations on him, which ultimately determined his death. In the morning, a man in his 50s died when he overturned with his vehicle on Route 40 near a tent junction in the south.

"We are at the end of a particularly deadly and bloody year on the roads. Every day a person is killed in a car accident," said Erez Kita, CEO of the Green Light Association, in response. Years of neglect and budget cuts have led Israel to become one of the countries lagging behind in the fight against road homicide among all European countries.

" "We are in a state of emergency that requires the immediate addition of police vehicles and traffic police as early as tomorrow morning to increase deterrence on the roads and prevent life-threatening traffic offenses," he added.

According to data from the Green Light Association, 340 people have been killed in road accidents since the beginning of 2021, compared to 274 people killed in road accidents on the same date last year - an increase of 24%.
