He devoted his artistic experience and academic study to children's arts until the plastic artist Qahtan Al-Tala'a became a scholar in this field at the local and Arab levels, with his hundreds of educational and social works aimed and his unique innovations without affecting the imprint he sought to leave in the Syrian formation.

In an interview with SANA, Al-Tala’a said, “My love for art, especially with regard to children, prompted me to look at international magazines and newspapers that are concerned with their art and literature. At an early age, my imagination became attached to art.”

The artist added, "After that, I started writing scenarios and stories for children and drawing their paintings and designing what suits them. Then I added experience that I developed from my studies of arts, and then I came to Osama magazine to unleash my talent and live my artistic cases with the amazing world of youngsters."

Al-Tala’a believes that drawing for children needs privacy and different experiences, because the child is attracted by certain colors and innovative arts that suit his psyche and aspirations. He often relied on Chinese ink and other things that pertain to the child and used special feathers.

Al-Tala’a’s work for the child did not stop on paper versions, as it refers to his preparation of cartoon films in a new artistic style that suits our cultural identity, such as Kalila and Dimna, and characters he created such as Abu Fikri and Abi Awni and presented them in an appropriate childish manner, in addition to awareness films presented by the Ministry of Health.

Al-Tala`a explained that he painted subjects for non-children that reflected psychological, cultural and literary states, using various colors such as water, oil, charcoal and acrylic.

Al-Tala’a, who invented the three-dimensional moving paste, is currently working on preparing technical components with this paste, which is a new phenomenon that presents innovative creativity that no one has preceded, with contents suitable for the child and providing him with positive ideas.

In his work, Al-Tala’a focuses on heritage and draws inspiration from it for ideas that he embodies in art, seeking to make paintings from them for children and sometimes for adults.

It is noteworthy that the artist Qahtan Al-Tala’a, born in Deir ez-Zor, graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Oil Painting in 1985. He drew in Osama magazine and other Arab children’s magazines. He has a large collection of cartoons and comics, and has published many satirical caricatures in newspapers, and worked as director of the Institute of Technology for Applied Arts. He participated in many exhibitions.
